This is Peaches! She is believed to be a Labrador retriever mix. She is spayed and is about 10 months old. 

Let us tell you about Peaches! 🍑 She is such a sweet, sweet dog. Peaches has been in a home before, so she is definitely used to the home life!! 🏡 She is quite scared in the shelter environment. Since she was a little shy, walking her on a leash was a little bit of a challenge, but she LOVED when we picked her up to bring her out to the play yards. 🫶

Once we got out to the play yards, Peaches started warming up to us quite a bit! She was following us around the play yard and kept coming up to us for pets and kisses. 😘 Peaches also found a ball while we were in the play yard, and she loved playing with the ball! 🎾 Since she’s a little skittish in the shelter environment, we didn’t toss the ball for her to catch but she loved hitting it whenever we rolled it her way and chewing on it. Peaches was also doing well learning to sit with treats! 🦴 

All Peaches wants is someone to love unconditionally. She really loves people, and any love you give her will be reciprocated 100%. ❤️

Lucy is a 1 yr 4 month old spayed female. She is thought to be a Labrador Retriever/Staffordshire Terrier mix. 

Lucy loves to go on walks! She can be a little strong when she starts her walk and needs some leash manners, but we can’t blame her too much for that! After all, she’s only grown up in the kennels, not in a home. 🏡 Lucy joined the St. Tammany Parish Shelter about a year ago at only 4 months old weighing just around 30 pounds. 🥺

Lucy is very friendly and outgoing! Once she meets someone, it’s like she’s known them her whole life! She never meets a stranger. ❤️ Lucy also gets along with other dogs! 🐕

Lucy is affectionate & loves attention! 💕 She is a people pleaser type of dog and just needs some direction. Somebody is going to hit the furry best friend JACKPOT with this girl… 🍀

Brynn is such a great dog, even a staff member at the shelter recommend we sponsor her. 🥰 Once we got to meet her and played with her a bit, we knew we had to help her find her new home! Brynn is VERY playful and loves to run (so a big back yard will be very beneficial to her)! She would chase after all of the toys we threw and bring them back to us to play some more! 🎾 Brynn loved to snuggle up next to us while we were there (and we had absolutely no problem with that). Getting pets is totally her thing. 🐶 As you can also see, she’s a very happy dog and loved getting all that attention to herself. 

Brynn does know how to sit on command! It may take a few tries, but she catches on real fast. Especially when treats are involved. She sits when she knows she’ll get a treat after! 🦴 P.S. That’s how we got that awesome picture of her in the top right corner.

As you can also tell by the pictures we got of Brynn, her ears are almost never down! Her ears would be perked up nearly the whole time we were there playing with her!

🗣️ As everyone knows, we love to help dogs get homes too! 🏡 We are so excited to announce our new partnership with Washington Parish Animal Shelter!! 🐾 Since today is Red Day, a day for giving back, we decided to sponsor 3️⃣ of their pups!

Percy, at 6 months old, is calm, well-behaved and enjoys attention & treats! 😋 He’s already House trained too!! Our buddy is friendly with kiddos, cats and other dogs. While he has a little limp from a previous (now healed) leg injury, it sure doesn’t stop him! 🐕

Castiel, also 6 months old, is energetic (but not too much! 😉), loves water and playtime with his kennel mates. An angel around kids and eager to play (especially with cats ). He was found emaciated and made a remarkable recovery thanks to shelter staff! 🫶 We love this boy so much, we decided to throw in a Tractor Supply gift card to make the transition home a little easier. 🐕‍🦺

Last, but not least, at 4 months old is our sweetheart, Marmaduke! He is sociable and adventurous, showing a fondness for both children and other dogs.  He’s done exceptionally well during outings and seems to enjoy being around livestock! 🐴 This sweet boy is responsive to training, especially when treats are involved . Meet Ophelia! Ophelia is believed to be a 6-month-old spayed female Labrador Retriever mix.

When we first met Ophelia, she was very excited to have some visitors! She is a very happy puppy with a lot of personality. 🐶 As soon as we took off her leash in one of the yards, she had some MAJOR zoomies! 🏎️💨 Ophelia is a very energetic pup!

While hanging out in the yard, Ophelia was interested in everything around her! She was following every person who passed along the gate, and even sniffed some other sweet pups through the fence as they were passing. 🐕 She is so good with other dogs and wanted to play with all of them! If you have another doggo in your home, Ophelia will make a new bestie out of them! 👯‍♀️ 

After she ran around the yard for a bit, she decided she needed to cool down and plopped right into the little pool available, so she absolutely is not afraid of water! 🌊 Once she cooled down a bit, she thought that was the perfect time to give us lovings (and we got soaked)! 😅 Ophelia is such a goofy girl who LOVES to play and just wants alllll the attention. She is a kissing machine 😘 and just a sweet, happy, playful puppy in general!

Meet our December sponsored pup, Fred Astaire! He is believed to be a 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier. Fred Astaire is neutered and has been waiting for his new home since January 27th (almost an entire year! 😢). 

Let us introduce you to Fred. Fred is such a ball of energy. He loves to run and had the zoomies for a while before we could get some pictures in. 🏎️💨 Fred is such a giant sweetheart. He is always ready for some loving and was ready to play. 🐕 He LOVES his toys. It was pretty difficult to get some pictures of him without a toy in his mouth (as you can tell in the bottom pic 📸) but definitely not impossible (we TOTALLY didn’t use toys to get him to look at the camera 🫣). Once pictures were done, all he wanted was to play with toys and get some pets. ❤️ He is such a sweet boy. 

Now, for the reason he’s called Fred Astaire… he loves to tap dance! 🕺 While we didn’t get a video of it, we did see it with our own eyes (and it is SO adorable). 

Fred Astaire is available for adoption! On Saturday, Dec 2nd, The St. Tammany Department of Animal Services will be having an adoption event at Rouses Mandeville (3461 E. Causeway Approach), and Fred Astaire will be there (you may even be able to see him tap dance 👀)! Let us introduce you to our newest sponsored pup, Chunks! 

Chunks is believed to be a one-year-old Labrador retriever mix who is neutered. He’s been at the shelter since February 13th waiting for the perfect family to come scoop him up. 💕

Chunks was extremely excited to see that he had visitors when we showed up! As soon as we got him on a leash, he proved that he walks on a leash well! 🐕 Chunks followed direction and hardly pulled for the duration of our walk. He also didn’t jump on us (unless we told him to so we could get some kisses from him 😘). 

After we finished our walk, we took Chunks into one of the large play yards. There were a couple of other dogs in an adjacent play yard barking at Chunks, but he didn’t pay them no mind. He was soaking in the sunlight and chilling in the pool. 🌊  

Chunks is such a sweet pup who’s good with other dogs and people! He is always so happy as you can tell from all the smiles in his pictures. 😁 Chunks also loves snuggles, which is great because he has some really soft fur. 🐶 

We simply can’t understand why Chunks is still at the shelter because he has such a great demeanor. 🤩 You can meet Chunks at the St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services at 31078 Hwy 36, Lacombe, LA. Mocha is believed to be a 4-month-old spayed female pit bull.

During the first half of our visit, we met sweet Mocha in the yard with a few other pups. She was running around and playing with some of the other dogs 🐶 in the yard! When we brought her inside to play some more (and snap some cute pics 📸), we noticed that she likes the idea of fetch but doesn’t quite know what to do with the tennis ball after you toss it 🎾 (we’re sure she’ll get the hang of it when she finds her forever home).

We also very quickly learned that Mocha is very curious of what’s happening around her! She kept looking outside of the window when everyone passed and even crawled under the couch at one point (sounds like she’s a little nosey 👃)! We still aren’t sure what she found so interesting under there! Once Mocha was done sniffing around and warmed up to us a little bit more, she kept jumping up to us to hold her 💕. She loves being held and even snuggled up to us when we held her! Towards the end of our visit with her, she was very laid back and maybe even a little sleepy. When we went to go return her, there was a fresh bowl of food in her kennel that she immediately went to. She definitely knows when it’s time to eat 🥩!
