I get a call from Felicia… and if you know, you know.
Next thing I know, she scoops me up and we’re road-tripping to Belle Chasse to pick up an injured owl, then hauling tail to Hammond where said owl will spend the night before heading to LSU for evaluation.
Because rescue doesn’t clock out. It just changes locations.
Storm is going to get to move outside soon! St. Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue volunteers are always ready to jump in! Marcos, you still going to say yes when I say "Hey, babe. Wanna do something with Felicia and I today?" 🤣😂
I can’t believe Felicia went and picked up Storm off of a bridge all by herself! 😱 Thank you, Geaux Wild Rehab for taking care of Storm! Y’all follow Geaux Wild Rehab to see all of the amazing work they do! To help Storm, of course we ran over and built an outdoor enclosure!
There’s a hurt bobcat in Thibodeaux!? Say less.
This is how it went:
Felicia: sends screenshot of help request
Me: *Calls Marco to gently ask what he has planned tonight and if it included a trip to Thibodeaux.*
Also Me: Marcos is in, what supplies do we need?
Rescue: Be Careful!!!!!
Us: 😳🤗😃
Can you guess which emoji is who!?
Welp… I can officially add “𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙗𝙤𝙗𝙘𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣” to my life résumé. ✔️🐾😅 So can Marcos, Felicia & Macie!
A few volunteers from St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue heard the call for help and said, “Yep, we’re on the way!” Next thing you know, we’re at Geaux Wild Rehab, soaked head to toe, laughing like kids at summer camp, and somehow managing to build enclosures for actual bobcats. 🐱🛠️🌧️
Was it wet? 100%.
Was it chaotic? Obviously.
Did we have an absolute blast? You already know.
There’s just something about getting drenched, doing good, and hanging out with people who love animals as much as you do. My heart (and my socks) are still full.
Wild day. Wild friends. Wild cause. Would do it again in a heartbeat. 💛🐾
One of the highlights? Helping put together the Nutria float! We had a blast crafting this little tribute, proving that even Louisiana’s most infamous swamp critter can be parade-worthy. It was all about fun, community, and a little bit of creative flair!
Thank you to everyone who came out, walked with us, cheered us on, or just stopped to pet a pup along the route. Can’t wait to do it again next year!
What started as a desire to help animals through real estate quickly turned into something much bigger. From sponsoring dogs for adoption to jumping into every animal-related opportunity I could find, this journey has brought me so much joy over the past few years.
In January, my love for real estate and my dedication to animal rescue came together in the best way possible—I had the incredible opportunity to join the board of St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue!
The connections between these two worlds run deeper than I ever imagined. Finding homes—for both people and pets—requires compassion, patience, and a deep understanding of needs. Whether it’s matching a family with their dream home or helping a rescue pet find their forever family, the mission is the same: creating safe, happy places to call home.
Attending this conference may be animal-focused, but the knowledge and connections I’m gaining are helping me grow both as a real estate professional and as a board member. The more I learn, the more I see how these two passions truly go hand in hand.
Grateful is an understatement! Here’s to making a difference—one home, one pet, and one opportunity at a time.
Boy, are we excited!!!!!🥳🥳 We heard that the Washington Parish community needed a place for pet supplies for families in need and we listened! 😊
Introducing the new “Kibble Kottage” located at the Washington Parish Animal Shelter. Have extra pet supplies or food? Help us fill it up! 🐶🐱 In need of some food for your furry friend, go grab you some!
A huge thank you to Christa and Phil for bringing our vision to life and for donating some amazing platforms for the play yards. The pups loved them!! 😍
As you know, we are passionate about helping dogs get homes too. Our shelters and sanctuaries are overcrowded. Looking for a furry companion? Now is the time to adopt!
